By sprintshoe91 , October 16, in MicroOutlaws. Are you sure about that. I always wondered why someone wouldnt try a cc mini sprint. If a junky focus motor can make it to the A then a lightweight mini can, I dont remember ever seeing the no chain driven. It is NOT "run what you brung.
The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals is an indoor midget car racing event. The inaugural Chili Bowl was organized by Lanny Edwards and partner Emmett Hahn It was named after a local company who sponsored the first event. The inaugural event consisted of 52 midgets competing in the 2-day event. The Top 4 finishers in the qualifying night's feature event plus the top 4 finishers the two Saturday night B-main events progress into the 24 car feature field.
The format has been changed slightly with the addition of a Monday preliminary night event. Previously the top-three finishers in each preliminary feature advanced to the Chili Bowl finale. The driver who draws lowest number will start on the pole of Heat 1, second lowest number on the pole of Heat 2, etc. Advancement from heat race to features is based upon passing points earned in heat race and qualifying races. Passing points are based upon car starting position when the yellow light goes out prior to the initial start of the heat or qualifying race.
